Chris Valencia wanted ‘Flip & Reverse’ to show a side of his sound he hadn’t been exploring lately. After a run of Latin and Afro-inspired releases, the Miami producer heads into tougher territory with a driving, peak-time tech house record. The drums and percussion give it real weight, and the vocal arrives on the drop right where you want it.
Chris has built a catalogue across Toolroom Trax, Nervous and Armada, with support for his previous productions from Mark Knight, Fedde Le Grand and others.
The vocal was the first piece of ‘Flip & Reverse’. Chris took it as a starting point for something more raw and aggressive, letting the tension build while keeping the groove at the centre. It’s a deliberate change of direction from his recent records, and a chance to hear another side of what he does.
